How much does OpenBasin cost?

Nothing. OpenBasin is open source software and is entirely free to download and use.

What do I need to run OpenBasin?

In order to run OpenBasin you must have PHP (version 4.20 or greater), a web server, and a PostgreSQL database installed, running, and ready to use. Also to use the dataloading scripts Perl needs to be installed and working on the system.

Is MySQL supported?

No, currently only PostgreSQL is supported. The reasons for choosing PostgreSQL over MySQL included the desired use of foreign key constraints, triggers, and stored procedures. This said, future MySQL support in OpenBasin is a possiblity, and programmers interested in helping should contact cvs@openbasin.org.

How do I get OpenBasin?

There are two methods of downloading OpenBasin: HTTP and a CVS Repository. More information can be found on the download page.

Where can I get help on how to use OpenBasin?

There are a variety of options for gaining help on how to use OpenBasin. The first is the online documentation that describes all of the functions available in the OpenBasin and additional objects.
